Immigration Solicitor/Caseworker

 

Post Location: Burnley BB10 1PD and Bolton BL1 4DH

 

Salary: £25000 - £45000 dependant on Experience.

Start Date: Immediate

This is a fantastic opportunity to work at a high street firm with a highly reputable immigration presence, who are now seeking an experienced Lawyer/caseworker to join their team. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years immigration Casework experience or 1 years PQE or have held level 2 OISC / LSC accreditation or higher.

The firm currently has two offices based in Bolton and Burnley and has ambitious growth plans making this a fantastic opportunity for an immigration lawyer hoping to progress their career. Role

We are currently looking to recruit a competent Immigration Caseworker who will join our established team of immigration specialists to handle a full and varied caseload of matters with minimal supervision. The successful candidates will be able to provide comprehensive support to senior colleagues, assisting with a wide variety of client matters. There will be significant involvement in the running of files, preparation of applications, drafting correspondence and liaison with clients, as well as maintaining files and keeping records, etc. For those with more experience, there will the opportunity to take on greater responsibility for certain matters.

Requirements

The candidate must have experience in Immigration casework including but not limited to the following areas of work;

Entry Clearance,

Leave to Remain,

Pre-Settled & Settled Status Scheme Applications

Spouse/Fiancé in country/out of country applications

Indefinite leave to remain applications

Visitor visa applications

British Nationality applications

  • Lodging immigration appeals via HMCTS Portal and preparing appeal bundles including drafting witness statements.
  • Preparing appeal bundles, preparing brief to counsel and representing at the FTT (Preferred)
  • Identifying errors of law and drafting grounds of appeal to the UTT (Preferred)
  • Asylum casework experience (Preferred)
  • PBS applications- Sponsor Licences (Skilled Workers),

Candidate

· Must have proven experience of Immigration casework at a law firm

· Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands

· Proficiency in MS Office applications, Outlook & Word.

· Demonstrates accuracy and proficiency in written communications

· Meets assigned deadlines

· Demonstrates accuracy and proficiency in written communications with their team

· Develops strong working relationships with team members and gains their confidence through displaying professionalism and efficiency in all communications

 

Benefits:

-Statutory 28 days paid Holidays per year including all Bank Holidays.

-Additional 1 day paid holiday per each year of continued employment, limited to a maximum of 5 days in addition to the Statutory allowance.
