Trinity English Exams for Skilled Worker Visa Explained

Here’s something that surprises people:

not everyone applying for a Skilled Worker visa needs a Trinity test.

Many Skilled Worker applicants meet the English requirement in other ways. For example:

  • A degree taught in English
  • Passing anotherapproved English test
  • Being from a majority English-speaking country

But in some cases, a Secure English Language Test like Trinity may still be required.

The level for Skilled Worker visas is usually B1 level in speaking, listening, reading and writing. That’s higher than the spouse visa starting level.

Employers in Manchester and Bolton sometimes assume the worker has already sorted the English requirement. But it’s the applicant’s responsibility to prove it.
If the English evidence is missing or wrong, the visa can be refused even if the job offer is genuine.

At Parkview Solicitors, we check the English requirement together with the job documents. Skilled Worker visas involve both the employer and the employee. Everything has to line up properly.

No shortcuts.
