Trinity English Exam Exemptions Explained UK

Not everyone needs to take the Trinity English exam. Some people are exempt. But you must be careful you can’t just “assume” you don’t need it.

You are from a majority English-speaking country

For example, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.

You have a degree taught in English

This can count, but the degree usually needs to be confirmed through UK ENIC (this used to be called UK NARIC).

You are under 18 or over a certain age
Age exemptions can apply in some cases.

You have a medical condition

In rare cases, if you cannot take the test due to a serious condition, an exemption might apply. But you must provide proper medical evidence. The Home Office will not accept weak letters.

A lot of people in Manchester and Lancashire are unsure about this. They hear something from a friend and think it applies to them.

If you’re not sure, Parkview Solicitors can check your situation properly and explain it in plain English.
