Sponsor Licence Suspension and Revocation Guide

This is the part no business wants to deal with.

If the Home Office believes a sponsor is not following the rules, they can suspend the sponsor licence.

In serious cases, they can revoke it completely.

Suspension means:

  • You may not be able to assign new Certificates of Sponsorship
  • The Home Office may investigate your systems
  • Your current sponsored workers may become anxious (understandably)

Revocation is worse. If a licence is revoked, sponsored workers can lose their right to stay in the UK.

The business also loses the ability to sponsor.

Common triggers include:

  • Poor record keeping
  • Not reporting changes
  • Fake or incorrect job roles
  • Lack of HR systems

Sometimes the business didn’t even mean to break the rules. But the Home Office does not always care about intention. They care about compliance.

Parkview Solicitors supports employers across England including Manchester, Bolton, Burnley, Liverpool, Merseyside, Cheshire and Yorkshire to reduce the risk of suspension and deal with issues quickly if they arise.
