Sponsor Licence Suspension and Revocation Guide
This is the part no business wants to deal with.
If the Home Office believes a sponsor is not following the rules, they can suspend the sponsor licence.
In serious cases, they can revoke it completely.
Suspension means:
- You may not be able to assign new Certificates of Sponsorship
- The Home Office may investigate your systems
- Your current sponsored workers may become anxious (understandably)
Revocation is worse. If a licence is revoked, sponsored workers can lose their right to stay in the UK.
The business also loses the ability to sponsor.
Common triggers include:
- Poor record keeping
- Not reporting changes
- Fake or incorrect job roles
- Lack of HR systems
