Sponsor Licence Record Keeping Requirements Explained
Record keeping is one of the main reasons sponsors get into trouble.
The Home Office expects sponsors to keep clear and complete records for every sponsored worker.
If you can’t produce the right documents during an audit, it can lead to suspension or even revocation.
Typical records include:
- Copy of passport and visa
- Right to work check evidence
- Up to date contact details (address, phone, email)
- Contract of employment
- Job description and salary details
- Absence and attendance records
And yes, it must be organised. Not “somewhere in an email” or “in a drawer.”
We see this issue across England. It’s not just big cities. It happens in Bolton, Manchester and Burnley, but also in Liverpool, Cheshire and Yorkshire.
A sponsor licence is basically the Home Office saying:
“We trust you to manage this properly.”
If the records don’t back that up, they will take action.
At Parkview Solicitors, we help employers set up record keeping systems that actually work in real life. Simple processes. No over-complicated paperwork.
We’re based in Bolton (Greater Manchester), but help clients in the North West and throughout the UK.
