Fiancé Visa Financial Requirements Explained UK
The financial rules for a fiancé(e) visa are basically the same as for a spouse visa.
That means the UK partner normally needs to meet the minimum income requirement (or use savings, or another permitted source).
The Home Office will want to see:
- Payslips (usually 6 months)
- Bank statements matching those payslips
- Employer letter confirming the job details
If the UK partner is self-employed, the evidence is different and more detailed.
A lot of fiancé(e) visa refusals happen because the income evidence is not presented properly. Not because the person doesn’t earn enough but because the documents don’t match the rules.
This happens everywhere. We’ve seen it in Bolton, Manchester, Burnley, Liverpool and Yorkshire. Same mistakes, different postcode.
At Parkview Solicitors, we check the financial category carefully before you apply, and we tell you clearly what the Home Office will accept.
Because this part is not “flexible.” It’s strict.
We’re based in Bolton (Greater Manchester), but help clients in the North West and throughout the UK.
