Spouse Visa Extension Process Explained
The spouse visa extension is usually done after 2.5 years in the UK. It’s not automatic. You have to apply again.
This is where some people relax too much. They think, “We already got the first one, so the second will be easy.”
Sometimes it is. But the Home Office still checks everything.
For the extension, you usually need to show:
- You are still living together
- Your relationship is still genuine
- You still meet the financial requirement
- You meet the English requirement (usually A2 now)
You also need updated documents not old ones from years ago.
