Trinity English Exam Validity Period Explained UK
This is something people forget about.
You passed the Trinity exam three years ago.
You still have the certificate.
So, it should be fine, right? Not always.
For most visa applications, the English test must still be valid on the date you apply.
Trinity Secure English Language Tests are usually valid for two years. After that, they may not be accepted unless you are relying on them in a specific way under immigration rules.
Also, if you are moving to a higher visa stage for example from spouse visa to settlement the level requirement changes. An old A1 certificate will not work if you now need B1.
We see this in Manchester and Bolton quite often. Someone applies in a rush, uploads an old certificate, and then receives a refusal or delay notice.
Before submitting any visa application, it’s important to check:
- Is the test still valid?
- Is it the correct level?
- Was it taken at an approved centre?
At Parkview Solicitors, we check these details carefully for clients in Burnley, Manchester and across Lancashire. It’s a small step, but it can prevent a big problem.
We’re based in Bolton (Greater Manchester), but help clients in the North West and throughout the UK.
