Fiancé And Fiancée Visa UK Application Guide

The fiancé(e) visa is for people who want to come to the UK to get married, and then switch to a spouse visa afterwards.

It’s not the same as a spouse visa.

The rules are similar, but there are important differences.

With a fiancé(e) visa:

  • You normally get 6 months in the UK
  • You must marry within that time
  • You cannot work during the fiancé(e) visa
  • You must apply for a spouse visa after the wedding

The Home Office still expects strong evidence of a genuine relationship. They also expect proof you will actually marry in the UK (for example, wedding plans, venue enquiries, or notice of marriage details).

We deal with fiancé(e) visa applications for clients across England, including Bolton, Manchester, Burnley, Liverpool, Cheshire and Yorkshire.
If you’re thinking “This feels like a lot just to get married” yes, it is.

But done properly, it’s a clear legal route.
